Syritta pipiens

Syritta pipiens turned up in Lagoons across the UK for the first time in 2018. Since then, they have infrequently appeared in Lagoons.

This species is unlikely to use traditional Lagoons, as it prefers a less watery environment. Similar to Rhingia rostrata, it has a much shorter breathing tube which does not telescopically extend.
