Common drone fly, Eristalis tenax

Eristalis tenax is a honeybee mimic, look out for its vertical eye stripe (see below) and inflated back leg, which looks like a honeybee’s pollen basket (observable in the short clip below). This species also has black ‘feet’ unlike E. pertinax the other Lagoon-dwelling drone fly, whose ‘feet’ are yellow.
